We've had squares, roundabouts, it's time for Jordan's space for conflict: reports from Jordan's circle of inner mistrust, or circle of interior- Dowar al dakhlieh.
This group was not chanting "down with the regime" or the king. They just wanted a better country and were inspired into action by events in Egypt and Tunisia. Reckless, yes. Admirable, definitely.
Jordan's Tahrir as peaceful protesters speak out for progress
"The moment I read the news about the sit-in I knew that sh!t will hit the fan, as much as I knew that the sh!t we are in will not only get deeper but will also splatter all over the walls. The location and the date identifier meant that “the-protest-then-go-home” era was over, at least for this specific group. The sit-it, to me, read: Tahrir Square in Amman, so please, reform NOW, reform yesterday."
