The Dubai Early Childhood Development Centre DECDC, one of the initiatives by the Community Development Authority in Dubai CDA, organised a training session for the UAE Down Syndrome Association to empower parents on behaviour strategies and the common challenges faced by children with Down Syndrome.
In line with the objectives of The Dubai Early Childhood Development Centre to emphasize its social role in promoting awareness, training and empowerment on the challenges facing families, the workshops are developed on the basis of international studies. The sessions are aimed at serving all segments of society - from parents to teachers - on ways to deal with individuals with disabilities through global and scientific best practices.
The training course was organized under the supervision of Dr Bushra Al Mulla, Director of DECDC, along with a specialized team. We are keen to co-operate and communicate with all social institutions to educate them on international best practices in the rehabilitation of children. We look forward to further co-operate with the UAE Down Syndrome Association on the latest studies and research and to share them with the families for applying in daily life.”
DECDC’s training courses and awareness seminars in a number of centers, schools and universities have met with great interest by the participants, and the center plans to increase the number of such initiatives in the next phase to include a larger number of community groups.
