Dubai Women’s College (DWC), a Higher Colleges of Technology flagship institution, has officially announced the opening of its Facebook and Twitter pages to begin a new era of communication between the college and its stakeholders.
DWC students, graduates and Emirati community in general can now keep track of the latest news, activities and new programs offered at DWC by following the Facebook or Twitter page.
Abrar Mikkawi, Media and Marketing Coordinator at Dubai Women’s College, who’s also in charge of DWC’s presence in all social media network pages, said: “Launching DWC page on Facebook and Twitter reflects the college’s general policy of making use of this type of applications, which have become widely popular recently with the Internet users, especially young people.” Moreover, DWC has its own page on the world video website Youtube, where it posts the works of its distinguished students, which have impressed browsers, in addition to video clips showcasing the college’s programs.
DWC will continue to use these social networks to their full potential, just like it had done previously by launching the DWC Youtube page, which was always updated with the latest DWC videos.
Mikkawi added that as part of its efforts to promote social networking as a genuine indicator of strong links with society, Dubai Women’s College has launched its social networking websites to come closer to society.
According to Mikkawi, DWC pursues all possible ways to open up direct avenues with society. “In this regard, DWC tries hard to make use of all sophisticated technological applications to enhance this dialogue,” she said, adding that everyone can link up to Dubai Women’s College pages on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.
“Such websites have cut a lot of distances and provided a direct and easy access for students, graduates and society as a whole,” she said. “Dubai Women’s College has opened a big window for Arab society and the UAE society in particular by launching these pages. Now everyone, including students, graduates, parents and school pupils, have a chance to be acquainted with all news of the college, comment on it and have a direct contact with us.”
Stressing DWC aim to keep a solid line of communication between the college and its stakeholders, Mikkawi pointed to the emergence of a large category of smart mobile phones and Internet browsers. “All this has helped the language of dialogue among society’s categories to develop.
