Dubai Women’s College held today its 5th annual Current Issues Forum. The two-day Forum provides a showcase for first year students, on the Bachelor of Business and Information Technology program to display the research they have been conducting into important global issues.
Donna Behl, Department Chair said, “We are living in dynamic times which create very rich resource materials for students to critically analyze.”
This year students provided detailed insight into the post-global financial crisis by presenting their research into this global phenomenon and its impact on the GCC and the UAE in particular. In total 44 research topics were displayed covering a wide variety of areas, including: UAE Micro economic indicators of recovery, Continuing problems of the Financial Crisis, Have banks learnt lessons from the financial crisis? and Government initiatives.
Students were on hand for the two-day event to present, discuss and explain their research findings to visitors and assessors as the Current Issues Forum provides one of the college’s innovative methods for evaluating student work.
“Current Issues Forum provides a great opportunity for our students to showcase their research finding on global issues, share what they learnt with others and provides a rich networking opportunity to interact with the business communities,” Tamilselvan Mahalingam, Business faculty, pointed out.
