The Emirates Salon Culinaire 2011, run by the Emirates Culinary Guild and held at DWTC, is a series of practical and display-based culinary competitions, entry to which is open to professional chefs, cooks and bakers. To prepare for this acclaimed yearly event, DWTC’s chefs go through an intensive six month training programme after which the best are selected to participate in the competition. A representative from the team likened to selection and preparation process akin to a major sporting event, with participants dedicating long hours to create the show stopping dishes that highlight DWTC’s culinary talents.
Mohammed Al Jumairi, Vice President Hospitality at the Dubai World Trade Centre said, “Salon Culinaire is an opportunity to showcase the extraordinary cooperative, gastronomic and artistic skills of DWTC’s industry leading chefs. Considering the competition occurs during peak season for our hospitality department, with a large number of weddings and events being managed concurrently, the great success the team achieves is owed to their unwavering dedication and solid teamwork. DWTC’s hospitality offering is one of the UAE’s best, highlighted again this year at Salon Culinaire. “
For the fifth consecutive time, DWTC was presented with the much sought after award ‘Best Effort of a Single Establishment in the UAE’, stressing the excellence of the centre’s world-class culinary creations.
