Two daughters of King Abdullah – Princess Sahar and Jawaher – say they have been held in the royal compound in Jeddah against their will for the past 13 years.
The UN has confirmed receipt of the appeal but has not disclosed whether or not an official investigation is under way.
The mother of the two princesses, Alanoud Alfayez , has also contacted the United Nations for help with this case. She is divorced from the king and currently resides in London.
