Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, used its expertise in handling animals to help transport Dubai World Cup winner Victoire Pisa to its next race.
Emirates SkyCargo’s new generation Boeing 747 Freighter operated the service, taking the Japanese colt to Hong Kong for Saturday’s meeting at Sha Tin.
Victoire Pisa is now preparing for the Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II Cup after his journey with Emirates SkyCargo, whose Animal Care solution encompasses proven experience in handling many other animals, including pets and exotics, while complying strictly with IATA Live Animal Regulations (LAR).
“Transporting any animal requires the highest degree of care and special handling, however to carry a champion horse which has just triumphed in a $10 million race is a huge honour and responsibility,”said Hiran Perera, Emirates’ SVP Cargo Planning & Freighters. “We have vast experience in carrying the world’s finest racehorses and their owners have great faith in the service we provide.”
EK9862, with its special cargo worth tens of millions of dollars, arrived at Hong Kong International safely.
