The producer Mamdouh Shaheen and the writer Muhammad Al Ghidi have chosen the Syrian actor Abed Fahed to play the role of the late comedian Najeeb Al Rihani in the new television drama series “Al Dahek Al Baki” (Laughing and Crying).
The new series is derived from Najeeb’s memoirs and will be aired on television next Ramadan season.
Fahed revealed that he is overwhelmed to play the role. Najeeb’s personality was unusual and he was loyal to his art career, said Fahed.
Fahed also announced that he recently turned down offers to star in three drama series, “Al Jama’ah” (The Group), “Sheikh Al Arab Hamam” (Arab Sheikh Hammam) also starring the famous Egyptian actor Yehya Al Fakharani and the second part of “Al Haribah” (The Fugitive).
