Egyptian superstar Amr Diab has postponed the release of his new album due to the recent tragic terrorist attack in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt and the passing of the Saudi King Fahed.
The album was scheduled for release this summer season
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Amr also apologized to a number of concert sponsors for being unable to hold any live performances, explaining that he is filled with too much sorrow over the conditions of the region.
Amr had spent endless hours recording the songs for his upcoming album, in an effort to meet the deadline set by his production company ‘Rotana.’
Amr has not selected which songs he will film in the form of music videos, nor has revealed the name of the album, which features eleven songs.
Amr will be dedicating himself to working on his upcoming film “Al Mutamarid” (The Rebel), written by Egyptian Midhat Al Adel.
Amr was supposed to have completed the film two years ago, but postponed it due to his music career. The film will be shot between Cairo and Beirut, and Amr is scheduled to begin preparations in the next few days.
In many ways the film is a biography of Amr’s life, portraying the journey of a singer to stardom and the many obstacles he faces along the way.
