If you were wondering why life went quiet on the streets of the Arab world last Saturday, it's because our fave reality TV show Arabs Got Talent is back in action.
The long-awaited Season 3 premiered on MBC4 last weekend. Fans were anxious to see how the latest addition to the judging panel, comedian Ahmed Helmy, will hold up and fit in with the other judges.
But it seems like Ahmed was a good addition to the mix , as he added an element of fun to the show. All four judges got on super well, just like in previous seasons.
Thousands of contestants flocked to AGT's auditions round, many of which were lucky enough to make it through to the next stage of the competition.
Top Runners, a four-man sports act, received three yeses and a “no” from judge Ali Jaber – nothing's changed then! But that's all they needed to get through to round 2.
Whereas in the case of Egyptian Hassan Bakheet, the one “no” vote he received was from judge Nasser Al Qasabi .
Nael Jamal was another lucky contestant to make it through to the next stage. Jamal wowed the judges with his unique painting skills, just as the group “Backstage” did too.
This year, the little ones were on fire. Palestinian child Mohammad al Jayousi impressed the judges with his exceptional mathematical gift, which granted him a place in round 2.
Child act Malak Al Tayyar sang a song by legendary singer Fairuz, which took the judges' breaths away and landed her a spot in the next stage of the competition as well.
Another act joining the lucky-contestants-list was “Duo Merry,” a double act by a man and his wife.
Anyone with disabilities didn't fee left out that night either, as the group “The Genius and Ibrahim” proved that anyone can have talent. They were given enough yeses to move onto round 2.
AGT ended on a good note with talented child contestant Asayel Hazayem from Jordan going through to the next stage. The gifted child astounded the judges and audience with his unbelievable vocals. Asayel sang “Inta Omri” by the legendary classic Egyptian singer Um Kulthum.
