Prominent Syrian singer Asalah Nasri held her first performance in Holland at the De Doelen Theater in Rotterdam. The concert is part of a musical tour Asalah has launched in Holland and which proceeds will go directly to the victims of the current tragic events in Syria.
An orchestra of more than 75 accompanied Asalah and the first concert was a significant success attended by both Arabs and Dutch people. The singer sang a collection of her most popular old and new songs.
Asalah granted all the requests made by the audience, who did not want to leave the concert hall after the two hour concert ended.
During the concert, Asalah dedicated a special song to Syria titled “Hathih Dimashq” (This is Damascus) and while singing she began shedding tears remembering the tragic conditions taking place in Syria.
According to the internet website MBC.net, upon her arrival to Holland accompanied by her brother Anas, Asalah visited the location where she was to hold her concert and held her first press interview with the Dutch newspaper Volkskrant, which is translated as the voice of the people.
Asalah will be holding two more performances in Holland. The next concert will be on May 3 at the Muziekgebouw stage in Eindhoven and the third performance on May 5 at the Concert Gebouw Theater in Amsterdam.
