Asi Hilani back with ‘Rotana’

The ‘Movenpick’ hotel in Beirut had a great celebration held in it that was organized by the famous music production company Rotana. The celebration was held under the title “We’re Back Together Better…Newer…and Stronger”.

The celebration was presented by the co-host Jomanah Bo Eid and it was held for signing contracts between Rotana and the famous Lebanese voice Asi Hilani.

 According to the London daily Elaph, there were many great surprises during the celebrations that started out with a filmed report about the famous singer which was created by Jomanah Bo Eid and the montage was done by director Adel Sarhan. The second surprise was when the great singer George Wasoof entered the room during the press conference and stood beside Hilani. This was the first appearance for Al Wasoof after coming back from Sweden, where he was arrested for allegedly having drugs in his possession. 

 Hilani does not consider himself returning to ‘Rotana’ as a result of resolved disputes with the company, but on the contrary he sees himself coming back to his home. He also considers his meeting with the press and the media as reuniting with his family stating that the press are the ones who created his fame for him.

 Al Hilani said that “the comeback was not based on setting high and imaginary numbers “money wise” which is what many accused him of, yet it came because there is great love and respect between him and Rotana.” The executive manager of ‘Rotana’, Mr. Salem Al Hindi, was present at the meeting and on his behalf he welcomed Asi’s comeback, saying that after Asi got a taste of the outside world, he came back home. Al Hindi and Hilani stressed that both sides had to make some adjustments in order to come to an agreement.

 As for the “Music Award” which was won by Lebanese artist Nancy Ajram, Al Hindi said that “the main reason that Nancy got the award is because ‘Rotana’ did not send the sales record of any of its artists.” He added that “Rotana’s artists have high records sales and if Rotana had presented its list of the sales for sure one of Rotana’s artists would have won.”

 Hilani on the other hand, neglected the award very harshly and said that the prize is paid for whether it was Rotana’s artists or any other artist and that it was once offered to him but he refused it for that reason.

 Unlike any other press conferences, Hilani held a live performance to the guest by singing with his music group. Al Wasoof also sang with him.
