‘The Princess of The Arabic Song’ sure knows how to bring it and appeal to audiences of all backgrounds across the region. Diana Haddad guest starred on Friday night’s episode of the hit talent show Arab Idol 2 , where she aired a new song for the first time, entitled ‘Tair Il Massa’ (Bird of the evening) as a gift to her fans. The single is also available for viewing on Shahid.net , receiving incredible feedback on her social media accounts.
The Princess started out the night with a collection of her own music as contestants popped out one by one, singing her songs. Then after being introduced on stage by show Judges Ragheb Alama, Nancy Ajram, Ahlam and Hasan Al Shafei, Diana began to alternate between the songs, ‘Saken’ (Living In), ‘Bint Osowl’ (A Girl with a Good Background) ‘Manni , Manni’ (I am not, I am not), and more. The audience was excited that the evening would be a mix of Lebanese, Bedouin and Gulf songs.
The second time the superstar hit the stage, she performed her new Gulf song ‘Thalith Al A'ayaad’ (Third Holiday) with a Saudi beat, dedicating it to the viewers of the MBC show and her fans from around the region.
Diana chatted with the host that talented people must take advantage of being in such shows and work really hard after leaving to reconnect with the fans and choose the right songs that fit their voices.
It was during her third and final appearance for the evening that she performed a Samira Tawfiq remix with the contestants.
“I would have wished that her voice could present with us tonight on Arab Idol. Through the remix we sang, we wanted the heritage of her songs to reach today's generation,” Diana said of her selection of the ‘Queen of Bedouin Songs’.
Ahlam, who can be friendly when she wants, thanked Diana for coming on the show and providing a stellar performance, adding that they have been friends since the beginning of their careers.
