The Lebanese satellite television channel Future has witnessed the most number of viewers hits in the past couple of weeks and mainly due to the number one show it had been airing Superstar. On Monday the show aired the final episode of Superstar ending with the announcement of the winner, which was Jordanian Diana Karazone.
Before the winner was announced both contestants, Diana and Syrian Rwaida Attia gave their final words, in which Rwaida revealed a surprising news that prominent Syrian singer George Wassouf had made a personal phone call to her congratulating her for having such a powerful voice and saying that he was admired by the amount of talent she holds. The odd thing regarding this revelation made by Rwaida is that once word reached George he was stunned and denied ever making such a call.
According to the London based Elaph, George stressed that no such call was made on his side and demanded that Future TV announce publicly that it is such a rumor, since from the beginning he is completely against the show and referred to it as “Silly”. During a press conference George held in Jordan before his performance at the Jarash annual summer festival, he spoke negatively of the show Superstar, saying it was a foolish show and none of the contestants have what it takes to be great singers. George had stressed that he viewed the show as a joke and could not understand why it caused such a big fuss.
It was rumored that before the show, the one who will go home with the title Superstar of the Arab world was already arranged and it was heading to Rwaida. All eyes where on Rwaida and especially after Lebanese contestant Milhim Zein (who was eliminated from the contest) had publicly called on all his fans to give their votes to Rwaida. It was added that a conspiracy was being made against Diana a matter which had caused her to be overcome with worry that she will not win the title. The big surprise came when Diana was announced as the winner, a matter which caused Rwaida’s husband to flee the scene in anger refusing to make any comments to anyone.
The question remains did Rwaida make up the news of George calling her or was she in fact tricked by an anonymous man wanting to play a joke on her. Rwaida denied making up the story and is still insisting that George did call her, saying it is not in her nature to make up such lies. –Albawaba.com
