Egyptian actress Mohsinah Tawfiq submitted a memorandum to the board of the Artistic Associations requesting the formation of a delegate comprising of Egyptian artists headed by some board members to go to Palestine in order to support the Palestinian people’s resistance.
“I have secured the approval of a large number of artists including Nadia Lutfi, Suhair al Murshidi, Mohammed Henaidi, Abdel Aziz Makhyoun, Athar al Hakim, Laila Olwi, Ahmed al Saqqa, Ferdaws Abdel Hamid, Hamdi Ahmed, Mohammed Subhi, Mohammed Tharwat, Hani Shaker and musician Kamal al Tawil,” Tawfiq told the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.
She added, “our humanity and feelings are not inferior to those of the European human rights activists who entered Arafat’s headquarters despite the bombing and siege and surrounded him with their bodies offering to stay as human shields to protect him. We should have taken these wonderful actions before these Europeans.”
She said she was discussing the issue with the Artistic Associations Head, al Sayyed Radhi in order to speed up the travel measures -- Albawaba.com
