Film Producer Ahmed Al Arabi flew last week to the Greek capital city of Athens, working on a Dolby Digital copy for the movie "Asrar Al Banat" (Girls' Secret) to be made and sent to the Oscar committee in Hollywood on time.
The London-based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat reported on Tuesday that the movie’s producer Ahmed Al Arabi is working hardly on the copy to be sent to the Oscar committee on time, to avoid repeating the scenario that happened to the movie "Ard Al Khawf" (Land of Fear) last year.
The movie "Ard al Khawf" was deprived from the competition in the Oscar awards contest last year, because of the backwardness and the chaotic way the production company has dealt with.
"We decided to participate in an international and well known festival like the Oscar awards, so I'm working hardly on not missing this chance," said Arabi. He added that the idea came after the huge success the movie made in Egypt and other Arab and foreign countries.
Earlier last month, Father Yousef Mazloom, the head of the Catholic Center in Cairo, nominated "Asrar Al Banat" to participate in the upcoming American Oscar awards. "The movie (directed by Magdi Ahmed) was screened in several American States, and participated in many international festivals in the US, in addition to other festivals in Valencia, Beirut and Rotterdam," said Father Mazloom.
He added that the movie had received many awards and holds all necessary conditions to participate in the Oscar awards contest in the Foreign Movie category.
The Golden Jubilee Egyptian Catholic Film Festival has given the movie's young star, actress Maya Shiha, a special appreciation certificate for her debut in the movie, in which she embodied the various human and psychological changes during adolescence. – Albawaba.com
