Prominent Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmi has suggested that an Egyptian production company to try and reach an agreement with Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram to take the leading role in his upcoming film.
Hussein stressed that Nancy is the best suited person for the role, and asserted that his nomination of Nancy is not merely due to her looks, but her proven acting abilities demonstrated in her music videos.
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Hussein, a UN Goodwill Ambassador, sent a special request to United Nations Secretary General Kofi Anan to ask his permission to make a reference to him in his new television drama “Al Sharid” (The deserter).
In the drama Hussein plays the role of an advisor to the UN Secretary General who is faced with a conspiracy against him by a Jewish lobby, fueled by his Arab and Muslim identity.
His character begins to suffer from Alzheimer's disease, forcing him to resign his position.
The drama, written by Mahdi Yousif and directed by Mohammad Abdul Aziz, costars Sawsan Murad and Syrian actress Jumana Murad, and will be filmed at the ‘Media Production City.’
