Fadel Shaker clarifies shooting incident

The media office of Lebanese singer Fadel Shaker has
released a press release clarifying recent news about the arrest of the singer
for shooting at his daughter’s marriage suitor. The release , which was
considered to have taken too long to come out, stated that Fadel was having
dinner at a restaurant with some friends and during dinner he had received an
irritating message on his cell phone from a man named Hisham Makki, who is
Fadel’s cousin.

The release added that there are disputes between Hisham and
Fadel over the fact that Hisham’s brother wanted to marry Fadel’s daughter, but
the singer had turned him down. After the message was received, all those
present at the dinner with Fadel went to Hisham’s house to resolve matters
peacefully. Upon arrival to Hisham’s house, Fadel and those who accompanied him
were shocked to have shots fired at them a matter that forced them to do the
same to avoid being hit.

At that point, police had arrived at the scene and arrested
everyone and Fadel was taken to give his statements regarding the incident and
not as a suspect accused of attempting to kill. The singer was immediately
released after giving his statement.

According to the press release, it was stated that Fadel’s
daughter is already engaged to another man, who is not her father’s relative,
and she is scheduled to be married in the very near future.

Recently, news reports stated that Fadel had fired shots at
a man for merely wanting to marry his daughter, and as a result was arrested.
