The Lebanese diva Fairouz has waited for summer to perform two concerts in Paris on June 27 and 28. Meanwhile she is gearing up for a project which will be the first for her since a long time.
The new project is a musical play similar to Baalbak concerts and its portrayal won’t exceed one month. Fairouz is studying the project with her long career mate Mansour al Rahabani.
In August last year, the renowned singer sang in Beitiddin and last month was her last date with her lovers. She sang in Dubai and there was a date for her concert in Qatar but she did not perform it.
The Lebanese singer and composer Marwan al Rahabani attended her latest concert at the American University of Dubai building. He told the daily al Hayat, “I cried when I heard her singing Ya Rubooa’ Biladi.”
Marwan likes fun but sadness dominated him. “The concert was marvelous. The lady was great. I told her that she is a special type of human being,” added Marwan.
Many others cried when they heard Fairouz. “What is this charisma and nice appearance on the stage? I was really stunned with this strong memory although I have been in the art and singing world for a long time. How could Fairouz remember these songs which go back to more than 50 years ago. She also sang difficult songs which she never sang directly on the stage before,” continued Marwan.
Lebanese singer Julia Butros who is affected by Farouz voice, told the daily, “I am fanatic when it comes to Fairouz. The beauty of this giant lady is beyond description. She is distinguished with everything and everything in her is beautiful including her performance, personality, singing and way of standing up on the stage.” -- Albawaba.com
