Moroccan newcomer Samira Nour, whose age does not exceed fourteen years old, has captivated film producers by accident when she played an extraordinary daring role in the film "Casablanca by Night". The film had received a lot of criticism for the sensitive issues it tackles regarding the night life of Casablanca which reveals hidden realities that have been kept secret for some time.

According to the Arab weekly magazine Sayidaty, despite the success and acknowledgment Samira received for her role in the film, she does not regard her role as a major one, saying she only used this opportunity to stand in front of the camera. She added that her main concern at the time is finishing her education, which is still at its early stages.

Regarding her daring role in the film despite her young age, Samira expressed that she grew up in a conservative environment and the thought of acting had never crossed her mind. She had overheard a conversation by some of her friends about the director Mustafa Al Darkawi was looking for candidates to star in his new film "Casablanca by Night", and from there she thought it might be interesting to give it a try not caring if she was not chosen.

Her big surprise came when she was chosen among twenty girls all striving to get the role. From then on she began spending long hours at the filming studios and became better acquainted with the cast and story of the film. After carefully examining her character in the film she became more eager to begin acting for her role is that of a young girl who is forced to work a demeaning profession as a hooker, in order to make money to save her dying brother.

Many people were shocked that Samira's father did not object his daughter playing such a role. But the young actress said that her parents had enough faith and trust in her that they stood by her side despite all criticism.
