Egyptian actress Ghada Abdel-Raziq has expressed astonishment at recent rumors that she had fled Egypt after Muslim Brotherhood candidate, Mohamed Morsy was made president.
The Brotherhood and Ghada have had a love-hate relationship in the past and no one is quite sure where she stands on the politics. Ghada was previously top of the list of actresses that the MB wanted to sue for being too "provocative" on stage. But she later got all religous on us, started wearing the hijab and told reporters she'd voted pro-Brotherhood at the most recent elections.
Ghada stressed that rumors of her disappearance have no basis and she is currently in Egypt, working on new television drama “Ma Sibiq Al Israr” (With Prior Insistency). She stars alongside actors Majid Al Masri and Abeer Sabri. Ghada told reporters she would never leave her country over such a petty matter as politics.
