Egyptian singer Ghada Ragab will open the Cairo Opera House Summer concerts at the Roman Theater in Alexandria Thursday, along with Abdel Halim Nweira Troupe for Arabic Music, according to the daily al Gomhuria.
Opera House Summer program includes 35 concerts performed by 34 singers and musical troupes, in addition to 700 music players. The singers include, Mohammed Munir, Ali al Haggar, Afaf Radi, Mohammed Tharwat, Ahmed al Sunbati, Nadia Mustafa, Eman al Bahar Darwish, Anushka, Ahmed Ibrahim and Alaa Abdel Khaleq, from Egypt. There are also a number of Arab singers including, Walid Tawfiq from Lebanon, Safwan Bahlawan from Syria, Abdo Sharif from Morocco and Elham Madfae from Iraq.
Moreover, modern, classic, jazz music concerts will be performed at the Roman Theater, as well as Egyptian songs and compositions by Omar Khairat, Hani Shenouda, Sobhi Bedeir, Magdi Hassan, Yehia Khalil, Niveen Alouba and Nesma Abdel Aziz.
However, the Roman Theater is considered as one of the important ruins in Egypt for its historical value which goes back to the second century. It consists of 12 stadiums with a seaty capacity of 800 – Albawaba.com
