In a short period of time the press has been launching stories about different lawsuits against the famous Lebanese artist Haifa Wahbe. The lawsuits vary from one another some are serious and others are funny like the aunt that Haifa never knew “Khmaisah” who sued Haifa for stealing jewelry from her.
Khmaisah hired the well-known lawyer Abeeh Al Wahesh to sue Haifa and her husband Egyptian businessman Ahmad Abu Hashima. Khmaisah said she was threatened by the artist that if she did not drop the lawsuit against, she and her husband will kill her or send someone to throw acid water on her face.
According to the London daily Elaph, on her behalf, Haifa sued “Khmaisah” for the lies that she was spreading and fined her 100 thousand Egyptian pounds. The cased ended by Al Wahesh dropping his client “Khmaisah”.
On a similar note, the composer and writer Mustafa Kamel filed a case against Haifa and requested to have her banned from singing in Egypt. Mustafa claimed that Haifa had ruined the song “Baba Feen” (Where Is Daddy) when she filmed it with another song in the same clip. Mustafa wanted Haifa to focus more on his song and to release it on its own. Director Laila Kanan had made a beautiful clip of adding both song “Baba Feen” and “Lama AL Shams Trooh” (When The Sun Goes).
The lawsuit did not stop there, recently Haifa was sued for making fun of “Al Nubian people” when in the lyrics of the song she calls a monkey “Al Nuba Monkey”. There were over 40 “Nuba” lawyers that filed lawsuits against Haifa. It is needless to say that Haifa has been a target since she came into the spotlight at the beginning of her musical career.
There are many that are threatened by her looks and fame in the music field and there are others that try to get part of her fame when they file lawsuits against her.
