Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi is scheduled to take part in the Muscat Arts Festival in February and will be holding a performance on February 3. After her stop in Oman, Haifa will return to Lebanon where she will be holding a number of concerts in different cities.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Haifa is scheduled to begin filming the scenes for her upcoming film, directed by Ellie Samaha.
The singer’s managing office stated that the singer has not yet made a final decision on whether she will renew her contract with production company ‘Rotana.’ Rumors claim there is a possibility that Haifa will be moving to ‘Alam El Phan Production Company,’ owned by Muhsin Jaber. This move comes at a time when the singer’s three-year contract has ended and she expressed trepidation over renewing it for a second term.
The possibility of Haifa’s move is likely after Jabr agreed to record all of the songs she sang on her reality television program “Al Wadi” (The Ranch), featuring them on one album, which ‘Rotana’ refused.
Haifa stressed that she is disappointed with ‘Rotana’ and their lack of initiative in promoting her last album, “Bidi Eish” (I Want to Live).
On a different note, the international soft drink company Pepsi has chosen Haifa as their new star to market their products. The company intends to launch a new add campaign featuring Haifa, and will begin filming the singer’s first commercials at the start of the New Year.
