Currently a number of places are being examined to find the most appropriate filming locations for the new film “Dabit wa Arba Kitat” (An Officer and Four Cats). Shooting of the scenes is scheduled to begin in February.
The film, which is written by Mohammad Nabawi, Samih Sir Al Khatim and Walid Saif, and direction is by Sameh Abdul Azziz, stars comedian Egyptian actor Hani Ramzi along with the Lebanese band ‘The Four Cats.’
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Hani is hoping to have the film ready for the summer season. The actor’s last film was "ThaTha Raees Al Jomhoria" (Thatha President of the Republic) alongside actresses Amira Fatha and Zaina.
The film, which had faced a series of objections by the Egyptian Censorship Committee, revolves around the Egyptian presidential elections. The Committee objected to the title and the use of a donkey as the symbol for Thatha’s electoral campaign.
The Committee stipulated that the film not depict the elections as Egyptian, but instead from a fictitious country.
The film's writer stated that all requested alterations were made, and the country portrayed did not imply Egypt in any way.
