Prominent Egyptian comedian actor Hani Ramzi says Egyptians have lost sight of the essential goals of the January 25 Revolution, which took place a year ago, due to their preoccupation with “alcohol and bikinis.”
According to the internet website MBC.net, Ramzi said that for over a year the Egyptian people have been concentrating on the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood and the possibility it could take control of the government.
“The Egyptian population is in a state of depression, since they have not achieved the revolution’s goals,” said Ramzi, adding that there is still no place for free expression within Egyptian society.
“There are tragic incidents taking place daily, most notably the recent massacre of Bor Saeed that resulted in the death of 75 citizens during a soccer game,” he said.
The Military Council has failed to bring stability to Egypt and has created more chaos, according to Ramzi, predicting that a conspiracy taking place within the military will eventually lead to another revolution.
