Wearing the Islamic headdress, the Hijab, has not protected young Egyptian actor Hannan Turk from the tabloids. The latest rumor circulating about the star was that she was forced to remove her Hijab in order to continue shooting the remaining scenes of her upcoming film.
Hannan said she is not concerned with the rumors surrounding her Hijab, asserting that there is nothing that would make her remove it in public. Even before wearing a Hijab, Hannan made public appearances regularly.
According to the London based weekly, Laha, despite the fact that many consider Hannan to have a strong character and to be a proponent of personal freedom, critics think her new appearance in the Hijab, may be an effort to influence the acting world, by coloring the industry with Islamic principals.
Hannan said that she is impressed with the Iranian cinema, in which most female actors appear wearing the Hijab.
The most recent appearance Hannan made was when she left the set of her upcoming television drama "Awlad Al Shawari'" (Street Children) to participate in a fashion show by fashion designer Hani Al Buhairi, and donated the proceeds to charity.
Hannan wore a specially made wedding gown designed for women who wear the Hijab, and was considered the heart of the show.
