On, off, on, off: Layla Elwi denies rumours of marriage split

Egyptian actress Layla Elwi [2] has gone on the attack against rumors that have said her and her husband, Mansour Jamal, have separated, forcing her to take refuge in Dubai. [3]

The star’s official spokesperson said that all the rumors in the press were just that, adding that they are attempts to create friction between the actress and her husband. [4]

Al Ayn newspaper ran several articles, allegedly confirming a break-up of the couple.

Elwi’s husband has come in for severe criticism in Egypt, after the January 25 revolution, as he is a blood relative of ousted former president Hosni Mubarak.
