Maha stated that she admired the role she played because it
represents actual women in society, who is very strict in her method of raising
her children.
The actress expressed her concern about the future of Syrian
drama with regards to the rise of tension in Syria due to the outbreaks of
protests demanding the resignation of the current government. She added that
the current conditions force drama makers to depend on themselves with regards
to funding and the possibility of a boycott due to people’s opinion across the
Arab world.
According to the London based Elaph, with regards to her opinion
about the drama series aired during the recent Ramadan season, Maha noted that Syrian
director Rasha Sharbatji had outdone herself with the different drama series
she directed, specifically “Al Wiladah min Al Khasira” (Birth from the waist). At
the same time, Maha stressed that she was very disappointed with the comedy
drama “Youmiat Mudeer Aam” (Days of a General Manager) starring prominent Syrian
actor Ayman Zaydan. She added that no new topics were presented and the scenes
could have been done in a better way.
