Middle-Eastern singing legend Majida El Roumi  will add charm to the Ministry of Culture's much-awaited event called Bahrain Summer Festival  which will kick off on August 18, as part of the yearlong Manama, Capital of Arab Tourism 2013.
Citizens, residents and visitors of all ages and background will have a 'grand treat' during this special event when Ms. El Roumi performs live on stage during the opening of the festival.
They will also enjoy various local, regional and global artistic shows  and entertainment activities. The Thai trio musicians will be presenting a blend of west ern and eastern music on August 20. Nakhoul, the festival’s ascot, a palm tree which represents the deep roots of Bahrain, which was once called `The Land of A Million Palm Trees’ comes back for the fourth year, this time with his mate Nakhoula, and will present over 30 entertainment and educational activities under their fun-filled tent.
Other shows which are expected to entertain and thrill the audience throughout the festival include ‘Sanostra’ stars of the ‘ Art of Moving People’ acrobat and dance crew, the supernatural mysteries dog detective 'Scooby-Doo' and 'Barney the dinosaur and Friends.' Most events, especially children’s activities are free entrance.
