Despite the harsh criticism controversial Lebanese singer Marwa received over the song presented in her first film “Haha and Tufaha,” considered inappropriate and even demeaning, producer Mohammad Al Sabki is still confident in her acting capabilities.
Marwa made her first debut onto the big screen in the Egyptian film alongside Egyptian actors Yasmine Abdul Aziz and Tal’at Zakaria.
Marwa performs a number of songs throughout the film, written by Bilal Fadel and directed by Akram Fareed.
Al Sabki stressed that Marwa has what it takes to make it as a successful singer and actor, and has in fact began preparing for her second film “Jamila Awi” (Very Beautiful).
Egyptian actors Mai Izz Edin and Hassan Husni are nominated to star alongside Marwa in the film, written by Mohammad Fadel and directed by Akram Fareed. Filming is scheduled to begin in August, reported the London based Elaph.
Marwa is about to release her new album under a new production company, after breaking her contract with ‘Rotana.’
