Negotiations are still underway at the Egyptian Production Media City between Egyptian actress Nabila Obeid and management officials. The actress is demanding that she is paid the same wages as Yusra and Samira Ahmad for her new TV drama “Al Ama Nour” (Aunt Nour). The series is scripted by Mahmoud Abu Zaid under the direction of Adel al Aa’sar.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Nabila is demanding 25 thousand Egyptian pounds for each episode of the new drama, which is what Yusra received in “Ayna Qalbi” (Where is My Heart) and what Samira Ahmad received in “Ameera Fi Abdeen” (Ameera in Abdeen).
In September, Obeid put a condition for her comeback to the small screen, asking for not less than two million thousand Egyptian pounds for any TV series she is going to shoot.
Earlier in June, Obeid has announced her comeback to the small screen after a 25 years absence saying that, “the return will be through the series “Al Ahdhan al Barida” (The Cold Laps)”, written by Mahmoud Abu Zaid and directed by Adel al Aa’sar.
On another level, the European Institute on Mediterranean and European Arab cooperation
(MEDEA) has granted the Egyptian actress its yearly award in recognition of her ongoing work to enrich the Egyptian cinema. The center held the honoring ceremony with the presence of many well-known figures in Lebanon and the Arab World.
After being absent from the big screen for three years, film star Nabila Obeid returns to the big screen with a new inspirational story for her future film about the life of the late Princess Diana. Nabila prepared to strike up her production company activities after returning from a short trip to London with the new film that is based on the English novel (My love…Don’t enter my city). The Egyptian actress came back with Lady Diana site memories, as well as with the new successful novel for the Senegalese writer “Nany Kamala”. Nabila entrusted this mission to the renowned scenarist Mahmoud Abu Zaid. -Al Bawaba.com
