Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram has announced that she will postpone her European tour due to her previous commitment to appear at the opening ceremony of the eleventh round of the Cairo International Song Festival.
At the festival, scheduled for September 4 at the Cairo Opera House, Nancy will be honored along with a number of prominent singers from around the Arab world.
Nancy visited Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt on July 30 and 31, to pay tribute to the victims of the tragic bombing, which took the lives of 64 innocent people.
Nancy stated that she will not allow terrorism to keep her from living her normal life. She stressed that she kept her prescheduled trip to Egypt because she has a love for the country and its people, and feels it is her duty to show her support.
Recently a number of prominent Egyptian stars marched through Sharm El Sheikh, one of the most popular tourist areas in Egypt, to show their support for the city and solidarity against terrorism.
Some of the stars that took part in the rally were director Yousif Shahin, Yusra, Nour El Sharif, Laila Elwi, Hussein Fahmi, Raghda, Ehab Tawfiq, Farouq Al Fishawi, Athar Al Hakim. The stars wanted to show that the recent tragedy will not keep them away from the city they so love.
