Lebanese singer Nawal Al Zoughbi has set out to Cairo-Egypt to meet with a number of composers in preparation for her new album. Her visit to Cairo will be restricted to a number of sessions held with the composers after which she will head back to Lebanon till the beginning of April.
According to several newspapers, Nawal has been absent from the scenes during the Eid Al Fitir holiday with only one appearance on Orbit satellite channel for a private concert held in the presence of selected guests. On New Year’s Eve the singer will be holding a concert alongside Lebanese singer Fadil Shaker at the Bristol Hotel in Beirut.
Recently, Nawal completed shooting her newest music video “Bielba’lak” (It Suits You) with Lebanese distributor Jan Mary Riashi after she returned from Australia upon completion of shooting her latest commercial for Pepsi.
Nawal will host a live concert with four of the most well known Iranian singers - Darwish, Aiby, Mansour, and Houmeerah – at the 8th Dubai Shopping Festival, which will be held January 15 to February 15, featuring a number of musical surprises.
A couple of months ago, the singer was forced to re-edit her latest music video “Elli Tmaneitoh” (The One I Wished For), deleting few scenes in response to accusations saying that they are indecent and seductive in nature. Several Arab Gulf channels refused to show the music video, due to objections filed by censorship parties at Gulf television stations.
The eldest among three brothers and one sister, Zoughbi made her debut in the music world in 1988, with her participation in the TV show, Studio Al Fan. She was awarded the 'Best Singer' award on several occasions throughout her career. - Albawaba.com
