Lebanese singer Nawal Al Zughbi has denied rumors that an argument arose with her personal bodyguards during a press conference held in Dubai after one of her concerts. The incident, which newspapers wrote about states that Dubai witnessed a "shameful" act from the singer in one of the record stores, when her personal bodyguards forced several news reporters out of the store.
In the Egyptian weekly, Al Nujoom, Nawal insisted that she refuses to walk around with bodyguards, saying they restrict a person’s moving ability. I like to have my personal space and the freedom to do as I please and go wherever I please without having people following every step I make, and interfering in my private business. That is why the rumor regarding the bodyguards is false and its just like all other misleading rumors and are a failed attempt to degrade my popularity.
Last month, the singer was forced to re-edit her latest music video “Elli Tmaneitoh” (The One I Wished For), deleting few scenes in response to accusations saying that they are indecent and seductive in nature. Several Arab Gulf channels refused to show the music video, due to objections filed by censorship parties at Gulf television stations.
The eldest among three brothers and one sister, Zoughbi made her debut in the music world in 1988, with her participation in the TV show, Studio Al Fan. She was awarded the 'Best Singer' award on several occasions throughout her career. - Albawaba.com
