The empty space in legendary actor Omar Sharif's [2]trophy cabinet won't be filled until after Eid al-Adha as the Association of Cinema Critics has announced it will be holding off its highly anticipated awards ceremony until after the muslim holiday. [3]

The Egyptian leading man is set to be awarded for his starring role in 'Al Musafer' (The Traveler). [4]The film has beaten off tough competition and is set to walk home with 'Best Egyptian Film in 2011' - but the recent decision to postpone the ceremony means that Omar will have to be patient.

It's not all bad news though - without the ceremony, the star can take a well earned rest over Eid and prepare for that all important acceptance speech!
