Lebanese superstar Ragheb Alama [2] narrowly avoided being caught up in the bombing that shook Beirut's busy streets on Friday. [3]
The singer had been in Al Ashrafiyeh in eastern Beirut just minutes before the blast [4]that left - amongst others - top Lebanese security official General Wissam al Hassan, for dead.
Ragheb reportedly took to Twitter to tell fans about his brush with death: "God protected me, he is kind to me. I was on my way to the recording studio which is located on the same street where the bomb was planted. A few moments separated me from the animalistic terrorist bomb, which targeted innocent people…God protect Lebanon."
