Lebanese superstar Ragheb Alama has announced that he will not make a bid in the Lebanese elections.
The singer changed his mind after struggling over his choice of a political party and platform. The singer stated he was sure how he could best serve the needs of the electorate.
In support of children in the Middle East, Ragheb will hold a concert at the Royal Albert Hall on behalf of the Melkonian Foundation and the Egyptian Association in Great Britain. The foundation, which provides support to children around the Middle East, will donate all proceeds from the concert to two orphanages in Lebanon.
Vartan Melkonian, head of the foundation, said that Ragheb had suggested the concert himself, after the success of previous charity concerts held by the foundation for children in the Middle East.
Ragheb is also going on tour around the US and Canada, but kept the matter a secret until completing the necessary legal procedures, such as obtaining visas for him and his crew.
Next, Ragheb is preparing to travel to Malaysia to film a new music video, under the direction of director Wisam Sameera.
