Egyptian director Sharif Sabri and business manager of Egyptian controversial singer Ruby, announced that the singer’s film “Sabi’ Warakat Kotshineh” (Seven Playing Cards) will be screened in Dubai and Beirut uncensored. Sharif revealed that the film will be shown with all the seventeen scenes that were cut in Egypt by the censorship committee.
According to the daily, Al Watan, Sharif stressed that screening the film uncut is the only way it can be seen because all the scenes that were deleted in Egypt made the film loose its essential meaning. The producer added that he had previously agreed to the alterations made by the Egyptian Censorship in order not to rate it for adults only.
Sabri had criticized all critics who wrote that his latest movie was not successful and did not achieve important profits, considering this as part of the attack waged on him and Ruby. Sherif had previously allowed the stars of his movies to talk to the media after being prohibited for 12 months while filming the movie.
Contrary to all expectations, Ruby's first film debut proved to be a big failure ranking in last place among all summer films. The film, which is directed by Sharif, hardly made any profits unlike the two films "Tito", by Ahmad Al Saqqa, which ranked in the number one spot and "Khalti Faranca" for Muna Zaki ranking in second place.
Ruby's new movie (Seven Playing Cards) was screened without any special screening to critics and media. Cinema houses owners revealed that the film did not make its expected profits with six screening in one cinema reached only 1450 EGP and four screening in another reached only 900 EGP. It was added that only teenage males were witnessed going to see the film, due to their infatuation with Ruby, who is considered to be one of the most seductive singers.
Some audience revealed that after they watched the film, they regretted buying the tickets stressing it was a total waste of time. It was stated that the film held no significant meaning and was simply a silly one that is not worth watching.
Sharif finally gave his approval to Mazikka music satellite channel to host Ruby in her first public interview. The interview was recorded in Sharif's office in the international trade center and will be divided into parts. The first part will be aired next Thursday the 22nd of July.
During the interview Ruby talked about her special relation with Sharif and his affect on her career and how much has she learned from him. She also talks about how she dealt with the fierce attack against her and her future plans.
Rotana Satellite channel was supposed to be the first to host Ruby on one of famous announcer Hala Sarhan shows, either “Gana el-hawa or Hala Show, but everything has stopped suddenly after Mazikka joined the competition and won the competition of holding Ruby’s first interview.
It was revealed that previous negotiations took place between Hala Sarhan and Sabri to invite Ruby to one of Hala's shows but attempts were not successful. The reason behind the failure was terms, which Sabri set, stating that he wanted to read all the questions beforehand. –Albawaba.com
