Prominent Egyptian actor Salah Al Saedani has strongly refused
to portray ousted Egyptian President Husni Mubarak in any television drama,
film or even a radio drama. The actor stated that he cannot see himself playing
the role of such a ruthless dictator who caused his people so much suffering
and was a symbol of corruption.

Salah said that during the January 25 Revolution that
overthrew the government of Mubarak he did not think that the protests and
demonstrations would lead Mubarak to step down from power and the incident is
one of a kind where the people’s voices were heard and they were able to topple
the government of Mubarak and make it a thing of the past.
On a different note, Salah is scheduled to begin filming the
scene of his new television drama “Hams Al Juthoor” (Whispering of Roots) with
director Ismael Abd Al Hafeth. The drama is written by Yusri Al Jundi and is hoped
to be aired during the Ramadan season of 2012.
