Latino lovely Salma Hayek is set to play a hardened Algerian activist in her upcoming movie about the life of the resistance fighter.
Hayek will be playing Lalla Fadhma, known as the Joan of Arc of Djudura for her part in the Algerian resistance movement .
The Hollywood actress is known for her eclectic choice of roles , having played everything from a bi-sexual modern art legend to the wife of an assassin in Once Upon a Time in Mexico. But Lalla Fadhma is still an unusual choice.
The movie, directed by Algerian Rashid Bin Haj is budgeted at 40 million dollars and will be shot in Algeria, France and Qatar. There are rumors that Omar Sharif and the granddaughters of Fadhma will also be involved.
