According to the London daily Elaph, at the start of the holy month of Ramadan, viewers could not distinguish between the two Egyptian television drama series “Al Adham” and “Adham Al Sharqawi.”
The famous Egyptian actor Ahmad Iz stars in the series “Al Adham,” marking his comeback to television drama.
Iz previously starred in the television drama series “Malik Al Rooh” with Egyptian actress Yusra.
In “Al Adham” Is plays the role of Adham Tahoon, a poor man striving to help his family, after his uncle stole their inheritance.
In the series Adham is able to escape his uncle, Naji Al Tahoon’s plot to frame him with drug charges to send him to jail.
The second part of the series touches upon illegal immigration to Europe by young Egyptian men, and the difficulties they face, even facing death.
The Lebanese artist Sireen Abed Al Noor makes an appearance late in the second part of the series.
Sireen appears when Iz travels to the Ukraine illegally. She plays the role of a Lebanese woman that lives in the Ukraine and works as a fashion designer. She tries to help Iz obtain a permit to work in the country.
After starting her career as a music artist, Sireen has starred in a number of successful Egyptian films and won several awards for her performances last year.
Sireen denied rumors that she had caught the “Mexican Virus” from the other Egyptian actress Nihal Anbar who also stars in the television drama series “Al Adham.”
The series also stars Salah Abduallah, Mahmoud Al Jundi, Rashwan Tawfiq, Aydah Riyad, Nihal Anbar and Muhammad Lutfi.
The series is written by Mahmoud Al Bazawi and directed by Muhammad Al Najar.
