Syrian actress Sulaf Fawakhirji recently hospitalized after
suffering from a severe case of food poisoning after eating spoiled food at one
of the restaurants. The actress was placed under intense treatment for a period
of 15 days due to the severity of the poisoning.

Sulaf’s family members stated that the actress’s condition
is currently stabilizing and she is gradually recovering.
On a different note, Sulaf is scheduled to begin work on a
new television drama titled “Fatah min al Sharq” (A girl from the East), which
will mark her return to Egyptian drama after a two year absence. The drama is
written by Ahmad Ali Ahmad and will be directed by Ad Al Hai Al Matrawi.
The drama will revolve around the life of Ameenah Dawood Al
Mufti, who was born in 1939 to a Cirassian (Sharkas) Muslim family that
immigrated to Jordan from Russia. Ameenah is known for establishing a number of
political and social centers and also worked as a spy. Writer Ahmad revealed that he based authentic
resources the most noted is Ameena’s personal diaries.
