Syrian actress Sulafa Mimar has finally decided to break her silence regarding the devastating conditions taking place in Syria. On her official page on Facebook , the actress wrote a verse from the poem “Lahin Al Hayah” (The Rhythm of Life) by poet Abu Al Qasem Al Shabi that said, “If one day the people wanted life, then fate must answer”. After posting the verse from the poem she wrote one word, Freedom.
Many have interpreted Sulafa’s statements as supporting the revolutionaries in Syria against the current government of President Bashar Al Assad. This is contrary to what many thought at the beginning of the revolution i.e. that she was in support of Bashar.
On a different note, the latest television drama “Al Khawaja Abd Al Qader” for Sulafa is currently being aired. In the Egyptian drama, Sulafa stars alongside renowned Egyptian actor Yahia Al Fakharani.
