Umm Kulthum brought back to life to perform for Arab stars

In October, legendary Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum was brought back to life in hologram form for the launch of MBC Egypt. Now a video of the event has finally hit the web.

The Amman-based design and advertising agency, ND Productions, [2] simulated a performance by iconic Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum [3] at the launch event of MBC Egypt, [4]which took place in October in the prescence of a large group of Arab actors, musicians, and filmmakers.

The video was released on YouTube last week.

ND Productions restored footage from a 40-year-old recording of the singer, putting together the first live hologram on a Middle Eastern stage.
