Egyptian director Ahmad Saqr has clarified that he was not opposed to directing the upcoming television drama “Kaa’ Al Madineh” (Bottom of the City), but is currently directing the television drama “Li’bit El Ayam” (Tricks of the Days) starring prominent Algerian singer Warda, and will not be able to manage the two simultaneously.
The drama marks Warda’s return to the small screen after a quarter of a century’s absence. Screen writer Yousif Ma’ati has nearly completed the episodes, and filming will begin in February under the production of ‘Egyptian Media City,’ stated Saqr.
Warda asked the producers to be sure the role is suitable for her age, and does not endanger her reputation as a singer.
Warda has returned to Cairo where she now resides on a permanent basis, although still making frequent visits to Algeria. She sold her opulent apartment in Paris in anticipation of the move.
