The Cairo Opera Ballet Company performed two of the most world famous classic ballets, accompanied by Cairo Opera Orchestra conducted by Bulgarian Maestro Ivan Filev, according to the daily al Gomhuria.
Performed at the Main Hall of the Cairo Opera House, the four-day show ended on Sunday.
The performance, directed by Abdel Moneim Kamel and Armenia Kamel, present Nocenzi, King and Scarlato’s Malgré Tout (Despite Everything) and Brahms’ Danses qu'on croise (Dances of Coincidence) ballets, choreographed by Thierry Malandin and Renato Greco.
Dances of Coincidence ballet portrays a human scene full of gay and vivacity, while the other ballet portrays an unknown catastrophe that strikes the globe and eliminates the civilization and memories. A group of the rescued people tries to restore everything.
The Cairo Opera House will also celebrate Thursday, al Mawled al Nabawi (The Birth of Prophet Mohamed). A group of the opera budding singers supervised by Gamal Salama will feature a two-part concert. The first part includes a collection of the most popular religious songs and the second part will feature Amal Maher performing Umm Kulthoum's religious pieces.
Meanwhile, the Open-Air Theatre will host Thursday Nagham Masri (Egyptian Melodies) troupe featuring vocalist and composer Sherbini Ahmed. The troupe will perform lyrics written by poets Ahmed Fouad Negm, Salah Jahin and Amal Donqol – Albawaba.com
