Egyptian actor Hisham Abdel Hamid is currently shooting the starring role in a new TV series which explores the life history of the late Egyptian writer Yousef al Sibeai, according to the UAE daily Al Bayan.
The series, written by Amirah Abul Futooh and directed by Hani Lashin.
Abdel Hamid expressed his admiration for the man whose role he will play in the series, saying he was fond of the late writer’s novels.
“Sibeai was a talented person in many fields, but he was assassinated during a conference he was attending in the Cypriot capital of Nicosia for his views and principles advocating the peace process after the October victory,” said the actor.
“The 30-episodes series explores al Sibeai’s life from 1940 till he was died and depicts the political aspect in Egypt during this period. It also depicts the features of the artistic and literary movement in Egypt at that time, and sheds light on his relationship with other artists and writers such as Taha Hussein, Yousef Wahbi, Omm Kulthoum, Ahmed Mazhar and a number of Egyptian politicians.” -- Albawaba.com
