The young Egyptian actress Zainah finished filming the new television drama series “Layali,” also starring Salah Abdullah, Sawsan Bader, Yousif Al Sharif, Hanan Mtawe’ and Izat Abu Oof. The series was written by Ayman Salameh and directed by Ahmad Shafiq.
The story of the new series revolves around the character ‘Layali’ played by Zainah. She is a college girl from Alexandria who is studying pharmacy, but her life changes once she witnesses an accident and is forbidden from telling anyone what she had seen.
According to the London daily Elaph, Layali also faces pressure from her father played by Salah Abdullah, divorced from her mother played by Sawsan Bader. Layali’s Father forces her to become engaged to a much older man, and she runs away from home.
Zainah said that she is thrilled with the new role, which first started as an idea between her and the producer Amir Ibrahim Shawqi.
Zainah also said that she got hurt a number of times while filming, because she declined to have a stunt double.
Zainah denied rumors that the new series is about the late Lebanese artist Suzan Tamim.
