HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, last night officially inaugurated Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the world's first Ferrari theme park, on Yas Island.
This ambitious project will help position the Emirate prominently on the global map as a sought-after tourist destination.
A record number of more than 140 Ferraris travelled across the UAE to join the event.
Anxious Qatar urged FIFA to take a bold decision in awarding the World Cup to the Middle East for the first time in the history of the sport. A life-changing decision, as put by HH Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned.
In an impassioned appeal on behalf of football fans of the region, HH Sheikha Mozah yesterday told FIFA's Executive Committee that the wait for the World Cup to come to the Middle East must end now.
“Based on my feelings not just as a mother of my own children but as a mother for an entire generation of youth across the Middle East, for us football is not just a game. It is a sport for our time, anytime,” she said.
FIFA’s decision is planned for later today.
